Design, planning and construction management for four new detached houses near Looe in Cornwall.
Following Cornwall Council’s approval of an outline plan for four bungalows in October 2020, I was commissioned to redesign the scheme for the new site owners. Initially, I proposed a cost-effective approach by maintaining uniform bungalow designs, but at the council’s request, the scheme was revised to incorporate houses with integrated garages and parking. This updated design received approval in March 2022, with further refinements approved in December 2022.
I managed the building regulations process and produced detailed construction documentation, working closely with engineering and materials specialists. Construction began in October 2022 and was successfully completed in October 2024. Phase two of the development, featuring five detached dwellings, is currently under review for planning approval.
